Today I decided I was going to begin delutter my apartment. I had given my landlord notice that I was going to be leaving at the end of the month. I was thinking of moving to L.A. California for warmer and greener pastures. I had a lot of work cut out for me but decided to keep it simple and stick to at least one bag of garbage a day. Do not get overwhelmed.
Day One: Emptied one large plastic bin
1/2 emptied 2nd pastic bin
Emptied 2 boxes of papers
Packed up 2 boxes of giveaway books. In deciding what books to give away I chose books that I had not looked at for at least 2 years, crummy paperbacks, or topics I had no interest in any more.

Found a desk and a computer
Since I moved into my new house the "desk corner" had become the "desk clutter". Since the desk area curved in it was easy to use a storage place for whatever I did not have time to put away. Somehow over time many papers covered my "dinosaur notebook". Also, underneath the desk there was so much stuff...ranging from gift bags, to bubble packing material, as well as magazines, books, and papers there was no longer a desk, underneath space, or a "notebook" After hearing a few words about clutter this weekend and having a few minutes to myself tonight I decided to "declutter"' the desk space. I was in search of my warranty and paperwork for my Zen Netbook which broke a few days ago. In the interim, while searching for that paperwork, I threw out or put in its proper place many of the above mentioned items. I am proud to report that I have a computer and a space under the computer desk to put my feet! I still have to find my paperwork, and I still have to "re-declutter" this area, in other words, further sort and organize the papers....but there is a sense of achievement tonight....and now I can have sweet uncluttered dreams!

Shoes under the bed in an organzied fashion
Great new item to help organize your shoes. It's called Shoes Under (TM) and it could be seen on TV.
I didn't see it on TV but this storage unit has 12 spaces which can hold either a pair of flats, or one sneaker in a space. So you actually could get more than just 12 pairs.
It's no assembly. Easy to use and very slim.
Available at Department stores or Ross.
Shoe Organizer website is: www.Telebrands.com
I highly recommend it!

Decluttering Queen for a Day
Hi-
I recently had a great triumph in decluttering my apartment and moving from a big 600 sqaure foot apartment in NYC to a 300 square foot apartment in NYC.
I threw out stuff that I had with me since the year 2001 and before.
I had acculumated more than 1000 pounds...or it seemd like it.
I had a lot of anxiety and wondered how I would ever be able to trim the fat down.
I began my project on January 1st, 2009 and finished on January 25th.
This short mini-blog describes just how I did it.
I hope this will inspire all those who read to it.....to just throw it out!
If I could do it...you could do it!
